Random facts about me

There are a few weird things I do when Deni is not in Geneva. I don't know why but I seem to procrastinate more than usual. And some times I would lose track of time...

But that might still happen when he is around, so I'm not sure if there is a direct relation.
Yet, there are two remarkable changes in my sleeping behaviour when he is out of town:

1) I would watch any show or movie until I'm almost falling sleep, no matter how tired I am or how late it is.
2) Once I'm exhausted and I'm ready to turn on the computer,I'll place it in Deni's side of the bed...

I don't know if my brain is trying to fill in the empty space or I am just lazy...anyhow it seems as if Deni's absence translates in some sleeping disorder for me.

The good news? He is going away the 1st of January 2013 for two months and a half to do an intership...

sleeping disorder eh?
Challenge accepted !! =P

Madrid part 1

Hola amigos! (Can I be more typical? haha)

I don´t know if you know, but if you don´t I will be telling you right now, I'll be in Madrid until next Tuesday.

I came to visit my family, specially my parents for their 25th wedding anniversary (Woho!for love 25 years after) and to celebrate with them my 24th anniversary. Both dates are one day apart...so yeah you can do the math =)

Madrid received me an hour latter, courtesy of Easyjet, with blue skye and glorious sunshine and 4,50€ metro ticket from the airport to my house (3€ more than 2-3 years ago...).

Every time I go back to Madrid I fall in love oncee again with the city. I really miss walking around in a place where distance becomes relative to me, full of life, full of flavours...

One of the things that bother me the most is when people- in particular french people- tell me that Madrid is ugly. The first time I heard that I was astonished.

 "Madrid, ugly?"
Where did you stay?
For how long?
What did you see?

Ah ok!!
so you were 3 days,
stayed in the old down town
and didn´t see even 1/3 of the city

ok, ok... so it's ugly!

I've had the chance to travel a lot. There are many places I've seen, tho too many still to visit, and that's why I'll understand there are some cities you can like more than others. But from there to postively affirm that having London or Paris the only reason that makes Madrid worth of a visit is the fact that is the capital, because if it has no river, lake or sea and nothing else why would you want to visit it?

Oh boy, French people sometime there are just so over themselves.
It's so closed minded.
And lame, lame, lame...

So if Madrid is not beautiful: Que baje Dios y lo vea.

These are just the pictures I took on my way home from an appoiment.

But hey, maybe I got it all wrong.

After all about different tastes there is nothing written.

Hope you are all having a lovely week!

Saturday Day Date with Deni!!=)

Salut les amies!!

It doesn´t happen very often that my boyfriend and I have the chance to spend some quality time together. I mean, we live together (Thanks God!) and we see each other mostly every day but we both work a lot- normally with opposite shifts- and every once in a while he goes back home at Fribourg (1h 1/2 away) to see his family for a few days. If not there is always something else to do: me with my thesis, him with his studies or simply when we finally have a day off either of us if not both, feels to tired to do really anything.

Luckily for us every once in a while we have the chance to breath and let go ourselves a little bit. This Saturday we went out for lunch down town and had a banana split next to the Lac Léman (Geneva Lake) at the Jardin Anglais.

The weather was glorious

CATRICE CUCUBA'S limited eddition collection August 2012

Hello!

I don´t know about you, but having a student budget I'm always looking for high quality products at a low price. And today´s post is all about CATRICE, a low cost brand that has lots to offer. I got to know this brand when I first moved to Geneva almost 2 years ago and it definitely caught my eye.

In a recent post about Cosnova beauty, the company that owns CATRICE, I talk a bit about what this company is about.

Today, I want to talk about CATRICE'S limited eddition collection for august/september 2012:" CUCUBA".

This is collection is inspired in the Cuba of the 50's and so are the colors that represent the cuban attitude back at the time: warm brown and bronze shades, mustard yellow and two "completely in-trend" colors such as bright coral and soft mint green.

LOOSE EYE SHADOW

Highly-pigmented loose powder eye shadow of intense color and with metallic shimmer effects.

LIQUID SHIMMER EYE LINER

Long-lasting liquid Eye Liner easy to apply thanks to its fine brush.

SOFT LIP COLOUR

Lip color of high pigmentation and gel-like texture for soft application and pleasent feeling in the lips.

BRONZING POWDER

Soft matt bronzer, ideal for contouring the face and a summer must have!

ULTIMATE NAIL LACQUER

Following the same color pattern as the loose eyeshadows the ULTIMATE NAIL LACQUER have a new extra-broad brush that guarantees application with just one stroke of the brush.

I'm not always fun of make-up limited eddition collectios, since I don´t feel they always bring up something new, however I have to say that I really, really like this one!! I wasn't expecting to get my hands on it until mid-august, but lucky me (and poor my wallet! =S) it is already available at my drugstore!!(in my case COOP).

I'll do a separate post with swatches of what I've bought and comparisons with other brown/bronze eyeshadows I have. From the look at the store, they seem to be close to URBAN DECAY's original NAKED palette-a huge, huge favourite of mine and of a million people more.

I'll leave for now =)

Have you got your hands on this collection yet? share your opinions,  swatches and friendly comments down below and don´t forget to share, subscribe and give feedback of this post  if you like!

This is where I had lunch the other day...MIKADO! I'm a sushi lover, but my no means a sushi expert!

So if you know a better sushi place with a decent prices let me know =)

Poulet Teriyaki and Sushi (Plainpalais)

In the mean time, I think this place is great. You have variety at a good quality, prices range from 6-7 to 14FCH and you can eat on the go: sur place ou à l'emporter!! =)

Douglas and Migros beauty haul!

Today, I will show you some goodies I got not long ago. Nothing fancy, but I find it still interesting.

(Please don' mind the messiness around...=)

From Douglas:
- XSmall, Any size, any time Facial beauty water.
XSmall, Any size, any time Purifying cleansing water.
XSmall, Any size, any time Vivifying toning lotion.

From Migros
- I am young clear Thermo Waschpeeling.
- Labello Love therapy "Rêve de framboise" (limited edition).

I have already used all of them and I'm quite enjoying the Vivifying toning Lotion and the Thermo waschpeeling. The Labello lip balm is turning out to be a dissapointment wich is odd since I normally love all Labello lipbalms!

I bought this products out of curiosity and it kind of surprised me that there are not many reviews out there, not to say "none", neither in spanish, English or French.

(Well, I found a few but in german so it wasn't much of a help hehe)

I'll keep trying them and I will probably review them when I have a more clear idea of what I think of them.

à bientôt!
