Wedge sneakers. Are still on trend?

I know, I know...everything is already been said about the famous Isabel Marant wedge sneakers and its hundreds of high street dupes.

I hope you are not thinking something like "oh no, not again" or "your late on that trend girl".

Some people hate them, some people love them.
it doesn't seem to be a middle ground with them

In my case, I loved them from the beginning but I knew my sanity wasn't going to allow me to spend such amount of money in a pair of sneakers.
I've been in mission since then to find the perfect dupe for me.

They've been around in Spain for a while but for whatever reason in my short visits in the past year, I had not been able to find a pair that would please me in terms of design and price.

Well...surprise, surprise!! Wedge sneakers seem to be in trend in Geneva since the beginning of 2013. Slowly I've been seeing them make their appearance in shops and in walking feet of what you would consider "fashionista" girls.

Of course, after so much waitting I couldn't let it go. After going all over the city looking for my perfect match, I found this lovely pair at a shop called Le Halle aux Chaussures (the one in Meyrin, for those who live in the area) at around 50CHF.

I'll be honest. I thought they were expensive.
But I love them! I am super comfortable with them, I pair them with anything and I have actually gotten some compliments while wearing them. And no one seems to notice the wedge, which is great for a small girl like me!

Never been happier of Switzerland going behind in terms of trends!

I know this question is over done...but Are (were) you a lover or a hater?
Do you still wear them?

Probably the best hair care regime ever!

Back in August I did a review on my favourite products to style/take care of my hair once I'm out of the shower from the brand Naked Body care (UK brand).

If you missed that post, do a favour to your hair and check it out here because those products are amazing!

Today, I'm going to be talking about some products of the same brand but this time to use in the shower. I hesitate to call this post "Hair products I've used up" because I am completely out of them, but I'm not lying when I say that this brand is probably the best out there for your hair. At least for mine it is.

Now into the review.

NAKED renew Strengthening Shampoo
for weak, brittle & mature hair
with hibiscus & frangipani

What the brand says: Rapunzel was no wimp! Her hair was strong enough to set her free. We can’t promise you a prince charming but we’ve harnessed the power of hibiscus flower and extracts of frangipani to rescue your hair in this renewing shampoo. Containing vegetable proteins it’s unstoppable in its mission to fortify brittle hair from within, a wish come true for weak or mature hair.  Because your hair deserves the kindest treatment of all we don’t use harsh detergents – only gentle plant based ingredients. Vegetarian and vegan friendly.

My opinion: I love this product!!it has a strong floral sweet slightly fruity smell that is irresistible. It doesn't get really foamy, specially in the first wash but it is a matter of getting used to it. I like to leave in my shampoo for like a minute and this way is more effective. The results were clean (until 4-5 days), shiny, voluminous and bouncy hair! I believe it also contribute to the definition of my wavy/curly hair and my hair fell less.

NAKED bounce Curl defining conditioner
for curly, wavy hair
with kelp & avocado oil

What the brand says: For perfect curls and waves that bounce when you walk you need to look after your scalp (and have the right shoes!). We use Irishmoss, Sea fennel and mineral rich Kelp which is reputed to boost natural repair. Avocado oil will lovingly moisturise those tresses, and without petrochemical residue build up you'll be kissing those curls and riding those waves. Vegetarian and vegan friendly.

My opinion: This product has a strong floraly smell that I didn't really like much at first since I prefer sweet/fruity smells, but it is nice nonetheless. My hair felt really hydrated after using it and the hydration was still there 2-3 days after washing. It'd be amazing if they had for this range a deep conditioning mask, which I find always to be more effective in that department. Most important, using this product with the shampoo above, my curls were so incredibly define that it looked like if I had curled my hair with an iron!People used to asked me what I had donde to my hair. It is still effective with other shampoos but I got the best results with the one above. I can't wait to try the shampoo of this bounce range and see what it does to my hair!

Last but no least...
NAKED for kids 2 in 1 shampoo
Toffe Apple

What the brand says: Don’t tear your hair out! Let Naked look after your kids and give them clean, healthy hair without the hassle! Our fabulous tear free 2 in 1 shampoo means your little rascals get lovely soft hair after just one wash. Our gentle formulations mean that even if your kids can be little monsters, you won’t be putting any nasties in their hair. For extra fun, we added the scent of toffee apples. Fruity goodness smothered in tooth-tingling toffee – what could be better? Vegetarian and vegan friendly.

My opinion: This shampoo smells exactly as its name suggest. It's a dream to apply and hair is left soft and easy to manage. I would really recommend it for kids or for anyone! However it didn't work as well for me in the "curl definition" department, so I don't think I would use it any time to soon.

I'm completely in love with this brand. I wish I could buy it here because I'm not a huge fan of internet shopping and waitting for the order to arrive, but hey good news!! at least they do international shipping and the prize is cute reasonable. As soon as their Miracle Worker goes back on stock I would do an order. I've tried to find around me products that deliver the same results as the Naked lines and for the moment the results are far from being as good. An the prize is unbeatable, so I guess I have no option... =)

Now, let me ask you because I'm curious!

What hair products you swear by?
Do you keep the same hair routine or you switch all the time?
What's your current hair routine?
Tell me what works for you!
Do you care more about hair, skin or make-up?

My (NEW) two favourite blushes! H&M blushes review

I don't know if you've ever paid attention to H&M's make-up collection. To be honest, as the beauty addict and make up lover that I am, I would always look around and spend some quality time to go through their line but I have never really bought anything until recently.

And I have to say so far I'm loving what I bought and I am quite impressed quality wise.

Today I want to talk about this two gorgeous blushes that have become my favourite and the only thing I use lately.

12. Dazzling Peach and 17. Tawny Rose (price around 6 FCH)

Dazzling Peach is a lovely rosy-peach everyday color. It has little tiny sparkles that give a healthy fresh look to the skin. It's creamy in texture, pigmented but very blendable.

I think Tawny Rose is my favourite. I love this type of dusty-warm rose colors. I find this one in particular to be a very special color. The camera is not making justice to it. It has again little tiny golden sparkles but with a creamy almost metallic texture to it. It looks amazing on the cheeks. You have to be a bit careful with this one because it is very pigmented but still not hard to work with.

So there!
I hope I created in you the need to go right now to an H&M and buy one of these blushes!!
LOL
At least take a look at them and swatch them. If you love bargains, this one is worth the hype.

Love, Bea

Mental breakdown Haul!

Aloha!

Two weeks ago I had one of those stress-mental-breakdowns-panic-attack kind of thing. Every once in a while since the new year started I have one. Normally it comes for no apparent reason and when I'm alone so I've kind of learn to deal with it on my own.

But hey, not everything is bad. It allowed me to spend a lot of time a home, which explains the amount of posts an interaction in the blog world from last week =)

Also it came at the same time that my new credit card...and what's one of the best remedies when you are feeling down and you are at the same time a beauty addict?

SHOPPING!

I went to "Manor", Swiss department store where you can find high-end products. As much as I love shopping, I tried to contain myself even when I found excuses to make it "therapeutic"...

If you want to see what I bought, keep on reading!!

Madrid shoes Haul Pt 2!

Here is part 2 of my shoes haul from Madrid!

Most of them were bought by my mum for my birthday. The rest I bought it myself. Being from last seasons, I found them for really good deals and that's why we could by so many. Also, since Geneva is so expensive, if ever one my shoes brokes I don't really have the change to just get out there and by a new one...
So...here we go!

Madrid Shoes Haul Pt 1!

Salut!

I'm back in Geneva, but not for long!Probably when this post goes up I'll be enjoying Prague...I can't wait! =)

Now, talking about Madrid, one of the things that is worth buying is shoes! And between my mum and I, now I have a pretty big number of new shoes for the fall! I don't know if you woud like them or find them in-trend or not. To be honest against winter cold, I prefer to stay practical and warm. Also, if I got as many pairs it is because all were last seasons or my number was the last one in stock.
As soon as I got home I started taking pictures for this post!
Want to take a look?...

NAKED STYLE- How I style/take care of my hair

So...I've been asked what do I use to style my hair and this is what I bring you today!!

I was introduce to this brand by my lovely British friend Eleanor (I don't know if she will ever read this, LOL) so when I went to London back in June I decided to give it a look and gave the brand a try. I bought quite a few products using the 3x2 offer they had at Boots but for the moment I'm using only two that I've incorporated to my hair styling routine.

Garnier BB cream for oily skin...My summer must have!

Hello!

Today I want to talk about one of my favourite products for the past month an a half or so and a must have for everyone that wants to look good without too much trouble.

From Garnier's website
I believe you all know the original BB cream from Garnier. It came out last summer and there was a lot of fuzz about it being the first european BB cream. I bought mine at the end of the summer (more like october I think) and as much as I wanted to like it, it just didn´t work for me.

Before I continue with the review, let you know that I have combination skin, sometimes more normal and sometimes more oily, and prone to have large pores and a little bit of acne like two times a month (conciding with hormonal picks and when I have more oily skin).

Having said that, let's go back to the original BB cream. It had a nice consistancy and feeling in the hand, but then it felt heavy in the skin like it didn´t sink in and my face was all wet. Even if I have combination skin, I don´t feel I have to worry a lot about shine coming throug the day, but if a foundation is too thick or oily, my skin would directly "sweat it out". And with the BB cream this effect happened like half an hour after I've applied. Even if I applied too little, sacrificing coverage, or I used tons of powder. Bref, I used it two times, left it somewhere in my messy room and completely forgot about it.

When at the begining of this summer I saw the "New Garnier Miracle Skin Daily All-in-One BBCream for combination/oily skin" at the drugstore I jumped with excitement. Would it be better than the original?? I hesitated for a moment but I managed to try it in my hand and it felt so right that I bought it (No need to say that as soon as I came out from the store I started checking in my phone the reviews already out there about the product and I was very pleased with what I read!)

Note aside: it seems that garnier is launching in august another BB cream for Sensitive Skin (to reduce redness) and one Anti-Ageing (with skin firming ingredients).

The very first difference is the packaging, which I much prefer, and then the amount of product: 50mL the original with SPF 15 and 40mL the one for oily skin with SPF 20. The SPF is an improvement (separate sunblock is advised anyways) and about the amount since a little bit goes a long way,  it will last you for a long time.
Left: BB cream for oily skin;
 Right: Original BB cream.
Then, there is the consistency which is much lighter, kind of runny, but none the less really pigmented which makes it have a nice coverage: light but definitely buildable to medium. In the hand it dries out matte, but in the face leaves a really nice healthy glow without shines or looking oily. Not exactly dewy, but for sure a beautifull healthy look.
Left: BB cream for oily skin;
 Right: Original BB cream.
It lasts in the skin for hours and if you use primer and dust some powder on top, needed in these really hot days, the coverage and staying powder increase. ADVICE: for extra coverage, mix with your favourite foundation, you'll get the best of both!! I have the light color in both versions. The original seems to be a little darker than the one for oily skin, but both of them oxidize a little bit so they turn out to be not as light. I feel like if they adapted quite well to the natural skin color.

The BB cream claims to be a miracle skin perfector, which gives immediately perfected skin. With Perlite anti-shine to keep skin matte for longer, blurrs pores and imperfections, evens tones + gives a boost glow, moisturises and has SPF 20 UV protection.

I'm not sure if it is available in every country, at least I've seen it in Genève, London and Madrid so it shouldn´t take a long time to hit the stores everywhere. Prize is around 13 FCH, 8-9 £ and 10-12 euros.
BB cream oily skin + powder+ bronzer(no flash)
I haven´t tried asiatic BB creams or not even many of the european ones so at this point I can't really compare. I like looking good and having some coverage but I like to feel and look natural. That makes foundation my eternal nightmare. This product is lighter than medium to full coverage foundations, but very pigmented being better than a tinted moisturizer or even some light foundations out there. For me it's clear, I like it and I will buy it again when I run out. I'm sure it'd be a must have in fall and winter too.

Without further do, I'll let you go. I apologize for the super long post, like you see I really like this product and I had lots to say about it!!

If you've tried it, leave your opinion, suggestions and friendly comments down below, share and subscribe! =D

Cosnova beauty

Hello!

Probably the name of this post means nothing to you, but what if say Essence and CATRICE? there things change and your eyes might illuminate with understandment.

Cosnova beauty is a german company that for over more that 10 years, offers make-up products at a high quality/price ratio through its two make up lines: Essence and CATRICE

Essence was launched in 2002 and ever since its path has been fulled of success. The essence brand stands for unique innovation and trend competence combined with top quality at a affordable prices, making it Europe´s best selling cosmetics brand in the low price range (in words from Cosnova itself).
Her sister CATRICE was launched a bit later in 2004 and we didn´t hear much about her until 2011, coinciding with Cosnova's 10th birthday, when the brand was re-launched and-oh boy!-that's where you can say that this company got it all right! CATRICE it's define as stylish, pulsating, sensual, glamorous-inspired by the latest looks and lifestyles from the top fashions cities of the world.

Both brands present around 12 Trend Editions per year and the entire range is also revised to keep the lines up with the latest innovations. Essence apart from make-up and make-up accesories, offers also feet and hand care as well as a skin care range very convinient for a younger public (in my opinion). CATRICE is more focused in make-up and accesories offering a wider diversity of finishes and textures, combined with a a more proffesional style and more quality looking packaging, so in my opinion directed to a" young adult" type of public.

Cosnova beauty claims that its producst are of top quality so suppliers are subjected to rigorous controls, as well as they claim that any of the products they produced neither the ingridients suppliers they work with, do test in animals.

They have convinced me, what about you?In future posts, I'll share my favourite products so be free to share yours =)

"...High-quality yet affordable, exclusive and trendy, innovative and always contemporary – this is cosnova’s concept of beauty that resonates with women around the world" (extracted from cosnova's web site)

Douglas and Migros beauty haul!

Today, I will show you some goodies I got not long ago. Nothing fancy, but I find it still interesting.

(Please don' mind the messiness around...=)

From Douglas:
- XSmall, Any size, any time Facial beauty water.
XSmall, Any size, any time Purifying cleansing water.
XSmall, Any size, any time Vivifying toning lotion.

From Migros
- I am young clear Thermo Waschpeeling.
- Labello Love therapy "Rêve de framboise" (limited edition).

I have already used all of them and I'm quite enjoying the Vivifying toning Lotion and the Thermo waschpeeling. The Labello lip balm is turning out to be a dissapointment wich is odd since I normally love all Labello lipbalms!

I bought this products out of curiosity and it kind of surprised me that there are not many reviews out there, not to say "none", neither in spanish, English or French.

(Well, I found a few but in german so it wasn't much of a help hehe)

I'll keep trying them and I will probably review them when I have a more clear idea of what I think of them.

à bientôt!
